Face Lifts

Face Lift Procedure
Your face says so much about you. Through the years the face matures, shows emotions, gains volume, loses volume, the skin changes, skin sags, it loses definition and it is always there for everyone to see. Everyone wants to look their best and project an appearance of youthfulness for as long as possible. Choosing to turn back time is a personal choice and John W Bass MD Plastic Surgery has been helping people look younger for over 30 years. Facial changes are addressed as needed; the forehead/brow region, the temple/eye region, and the cheek/neck region. The facelift is the most common facial procedure we perform on men and women of all ages. This procedure improves the appearance of the lower half of the face or basically the cheeks and neck. The procedure targets the skin, muscle and soft tissue in these areas to achieve a younger, smoother, defined appearance. With lifting the cheeks and neck the incisions are made in front of and back of the ear following the natural anatomic contour resulting in a lifted and contoured face with essentially an invisible scar.

Many patients are good candidates for a facelift and enjoy the many benefits of this surgical procedure. Existing medical conditions, previous surgeries and current prescription medications are evaluated to ensure the safety of having a facelift. We take the time to evaluate your medical history and examine you during your initial consultation to determine whether a facelift procedure in Phoenix is right for you.

With any surgical procedure there is a downtime when patients will divert from their regular daily routines to give time to heal. Although the exact time of recovery needed will depend on which procedures have been performed, we use the 1,2,3 principle. Week one is for you to rest, sleep, hydrate and wear a stretchable cheek/neck support. Week two, you are feeling stronger and seeing a more contoured face. You will start light activities including socializing with friends and family that know about your surgery. The end of the week three, it’s time for celebration and time to attend any type of social situation. During week six many patients return to work out routines. The final results are fully revealed healed at approximately 12 weeks.
