Dr. John W. Bass, MD

After graduating from medical school in Kansas City, I moved to Phoenix in 1982 for my 5 year surgery residency. My plastic surgery training was completed in St. Louis. In 1989, I opened my private practice here in Phoenix with a loan from Valley National Bank. This July will make 19 years in Practice. My fraternal twins are 14 years old. My father was a small town doctor in rural Missouri. My siblings in medicine include a radiologist, optometrist, family practitioner and a general surgeon. Norma Homco

After graduating from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, I began my career at St Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix—night shift in the Nursery Intensive Care Unit. I straightened out my clock and joined Dr. Bass’ team in 1995. And, here I learned an entirely different area of nursing—healthy people wanting cosmetic procedures to have their outward-self match their inward-self. This is a very rewarding part of my life–not only getting to be part of a talented team, but to meet wonderful people and see how the Art of Change gives our new friends a more positive attitude on life!

I was born and raised in rural Arizona, just outside Phoenix. I have lived in Mexico, New York City, Nevada but keep coming home. This is home. I have been an aesthetician for the last 20 years. Prior to joining the JWB team, I worked at numerous spas and salons including Canyon Ranch in Tucson. Your skin is my business and I enjoy helping yours look its best!
